How Else Can I Get There From Here?
 

While it may sometimes be necessary to drive a car, it costs us time, money and energy.  How can you reduce these costs?

  • Combine trips and errands that you make using your personal automobile.
  • Walk or ride a bicycle.  Combine healthy activity with runninng errands and making other trips.  For example, walk your child to school.

2008 Merrimack Valley Disabled Transportation Study

Draft Elderly Transportation Study

In 2008, the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission, with the help of the Disabled Transportation Study Committee, completed the the Disabled Transportation Study. The Elderly Transportation Study is the companion report that addresses transportation for senior over the next 25 years. Public comments on the draft document are due to MVPC by January 15, 2010. Public hearings will be held on January 12 at 1 pm and again at 7 pm at MVPC. 

 

Operates regularly scheduled bus service that is available in Greater Lawrence, Haverhill, Merrimac, Amesbury and Newburyport with connections to Lowell. Commuter bus service to Boston.  Demand response service that is open to the general public is available in Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Salisbury, and West Newbury. Other services for the elderly and disabled are also available. Runs Monday through Saturday.
  Commuter rail and subway service in the greater Boston area.
  Regularly scheduled bus service between Southern New Hampshire and the Newburyport Park and Ride Lot to downtown Boston and Logan Airport. Runs seven days a week.

 The Coach Company

Service to downtown Boston from Amesbury, Boxford, Byfield, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, and Newburyport. Also offers bus service to Foxwoods Resort and Casino from Newburyport and Haverhill. Boston commuter bus runs weekdays, while the Foxwoods line runs seven days a week.
